More information equals more complex interfaces. Less complex interfaces equals less information. Less information equals less
[replace with insight]. So let’s act on that insight.
The human race consists of information addicts. More to see, more to know, more to do. Focus gets watered down, attention diffuses and some are more busy gathering and processing then processing and producing. Interfaces give a profound insight in how we obtain our information. Lots of info, lots of visual stimuli. But as we like to say, keep it simple stupid! So you can relax a bit and smell the flowers. Don’t hurry, slooow dooown.
Because interfaces are our way of managing, composing and guiding this evergoing stream of information, we like to approach things differently and turn this concept around. What if the amount of information wouldn’t be the driving force behind the design of the interface? What if it’s the design of the interface that drives the amount of information? Take a breath.
